aber eigentlich geht es um ein kleines werkzeug, das den workflow erheblich verbessern kann.

dieses script fuer windows durchsucht einen ordner nach dateien, die auf read-only gesetzt sind und schreibt eine XMP-datei mit dem gleichen dateinamen. diese XMP-dateien enthalten nichts anderes als ein violettes Label (Purple), das daraufhin vom raw-konverter gelesen wird und diese dateien damit sofort erkenntlich sind. filter, sortierungen usw koennen bequem verwendet werden.

endlich eine sinnvolle verwendung fuer den schreibschutz von bildern, den fast alle digitalkameras bieten.

das script wurde geschrieben und getestet fuer Bibble5. aber auch andere programme, die mit xmp-dateien arbeiten koennten davon profitieren. nur habe ich diese nicht getestet. falls jemand eine version fuer linux oder mac schreibt bin ich gerne bereit auf diese zu verlinken oder sie dem zip hinzuzufuegen. falls jemand einen fehler entdeckt waere es nett ihn mir mitzuteilen.

da sich das mit Bibble alleine nicht bewerkstelligen laesst,
braucht man dazu das MathBox plugin:

da die MathBox nur als testplattform gedacht war und im original etwas unhandlich,
hat andreas auch auf mein draengen hin drei schieberegler fuer variablen eingebaut.
damit ist der folgende preset sehr bequem zu verwenden:

KinemaKolor preset

X ist meine persoenliche weiterentwicklung und mischung der prozesse Multicolor und Technicolor.
die saettigung wird zurueckgenommen, am staerksten im blau, am schwaechsten im rot.
der effekt ist deutlich subtiler als in den reinen simulationen ueber y und z.
universeller einsetzbar, weshalb der preset auch eine mittlere einstellung fuer X enthaelt.
genau dieser preset wurde auch fuer das bild oben eingesetzt.

Y basiert auf dem historischen prozess namens Multicolor.
bei diesem wurde das bild in rot-blau gefiltert.
der regler entsaettigt den gruen-kanal immer staerker,
bis am ende kein gruen mehr im bild vorhanden ist.

Z steuert einen aehnlichen prozess basierend auf Technicolor,
bei dem alles blaue immer weiter reduziert wird
und am ende nur noch rot und gruen im bild vorhanden sind.

wenn man die beiden historischen prozesse mit hohen werten verwendet,
wird man sehr schnell feststellen, dass manche bilder sehr gut und andere sehr schlecht funktionieren.
in den anfaengen des farbkinos waren deshalb bei filmdrehs immer farbberater anwesend,
die genau wussten welche farben mit ihrem prozess plausibel aussehen.
obiges bild funktioniert zB in der technicolor-simulation (z) sehr gut, weil es wenig blau enthaelt.
in der multicolor-simulation (y) sieht es dagegen eher ungesund aus.

vorsichtige anwendung wird deshalb dringend empfohlen.

in der deutschen uebersetzung heisst es zwar “Vorgabe”,
aber manche begriffe gehen einfach im englischen original besser von den lippen.
ausserdem heisst der ordner in den die xmp-datei muss ja auch .\presets
und bei fragen bezueglich der installation bitte ins bibble-forum gehen,
wahrscheinlich hat die frage schon jemand beantwortet..
und wenn nicht, kann sie der naechste dort finden wo er sie vermutet.

und auch einige untypische sachen fuer mich.
und das meiste ist ohne wirkliche nachbearbeitung zu verwenden.
hier zum beispiel direkt das raw-file aus der kamera mit Bibble konvertiert und kleingerechnet.
aber eigentlich sind ja solche technischen details eher unwichtig,
wenn es um bilder von schoenen frauen geht.

one of the nice things with a camera that knows no limits:
you start to shoot in ludicrous situations.

a dark alley. four legs coming my way. fast.
iso dialled up to 25k.
aperture f2.0.
exposure time 1/320 second.
let them walk by.
turn. syncing the steps.
three seconds later four exposures are done.
every exposure has the legs right on the ground.

at home i fed the D700 raw files to Bibble.
noise ninja did its magic. done.

unfavourable circumstances are a good training place.

from the basketball wien 2008 tournament.
more than 5000 young participants from all over the world.

i really enjoyed the speed and enthusiasm of the boys and girls.
my setup was made to shoot on two courts in parallel.
each had two flashes mounted, radiotriggered from the camera.
that way i could easily switch the courts and only had to remember
to set the correct channel on the pocketwizard.

the pink princess. dont get that messed up with the pink lady.
they share a lot in common, but are different at least the same.

and the pink lady is now red.
guess she grew up.

with image-conscious people there are two options:

great shot.
crappy shot.

and often the second take is better.
taken a split-second after the real photo.

and in real portrait settings it boils down to being patient.
especially with those camera-conscious people.

i have to know, i can feel a camera that is going to be pointed at me while its still in its bag.

be fast. or take your time.

there was this annoying and very curious person.

i hadnt been aware of.

i dont mind bystanders. watchers. guests.
but they should behave like that.

as soon as you point a camera, people ask questions.
while in most cases it is none of their business.
you dont photograph them or their property.
but still they act like the moral stylepolice.

painters in cities never get asked or policed by civilians.
people just walk on by.
what is the threat of taking photos?
everyones a photographer.
at least thats what advertising wants us to believe.

seems it follows that everyone knows better.
